各位親愛的家長及同學：

Dear parents and students,

今年的五月份錄得有史以來最高溫度（約38度），當中不少日子是傾盆大雨的，這樣的天氣容易令人生病。希望大家注意身體，多做運動，注意飲食，正所為「預防勝於治療」。另一方面，政府正式宣佈全港中小學可於五月二十四日復課。雖然是半天上課，但回校上課會比較有學習效果。我們全體教職員都以學生的學習為首位，因此我們較早前已全體參加檢測，在五月初已經全面復課。

Hong Kong recorded the hottest day (around 38°C) in May on record. Heavy downpours occurred on many days. It’s easy to get ill in this kind of weather. Hope that everyone will take care, do more exercise and eat healthily because prevention is better than cure. Moreover, the Government has announced that all primary and secondary schools in Hong Kong will have class resumption on 24 May. Although it is only half day of school, learning at school is more effective. We, as teaching staff, put our students’ learning first. Therefore, we have all done the COVID-19 test earlier on and our school has already resumed classes in early May.

戲劇教育是我們其中一個的發展重點。我們希望同學可以藉着這種教學法，懂得如何表情達意、在別人的角度出發（即同理心）、增強自信心等。我們除了在課堂外，亦會在非正規的課程加入戲劇教育元素。我們會邀請不同的劇團到校表演，又會讓同學參加不同的比賽。其中今年參加了香港學校戲劇節2020/21的中文組及英文組，結果如下：

這樣的成績實在令我們十分興奮。今次是以網上直播進行，所面對的挑戰很多。衷心多謝負責的老師指導，令學生獲得一次寶貴的經驗，無論老師或同學都增強了不少的信心。

Drama-in-Education is one of our main development foci. Through this pedagogy, we hope that students can learn how to effectively express themselves, think about things from other people’s perspectives (empathy), and improve confidence, etc. Apart from using drama in lessons, we also add in elements of drama in our informal curriculum. We invited various theatre organizations to perform at our school, and we enable our students to participate in different competitions. One of these competitions were Hong Kong School Drama Festival 2020/21 Chinese Group and English Group. Our results are as follows:

We feel so excited about our outstanding results! As the competition took place live online, we faced many challenges. I deeply thank our teachers for their guidance, which enabled our students to have a fantastic experience. Both teachers and students boosted their confidence!

另外，今年五月份真的好像收成一樣，各科、各活動也有不同的獎項，學校希望多給予學生有成功的機會作為日後的推動力。這個經驗是重要的，甚至有學生希望參加活動，而努力讀書，令家長及老師放心他一邊參加活動，一邊努力讀書。我曾經因為可以繼續排球而盡最大努力去讀書，因為我覺得打排球令我有滿足感。多幸運的我，現在仍然與昔日排球隊的成員聯絡，我們由如家人般，所以運動可以給大家一些想不到的效果。

In addition, this May was truly a month of bountiful harvest. All school subjects and all events we participated in earned various awards. Our school hope to give our students opportunities for success in order to motivate them to keep improving. These experiences are important to them. Many students do better in their studies because they wish to participate in activities and events, so parents and teachers are happy with students joining the events alongside studying. In the past, I studied as hard as I could so that I could continue playing volleyball. This is because volleyball gave me a sense of satisfaction. Luckily, I am still in touch with my volleyball teammates. We are like family! That’s why sports can give you pleasant surprises.

在五月一日起，本校參加了「港鐵社區畫廊」計劃，有8位同學的作品在西鐵屯門站展出，為期一個月。希望同學及家長經過這裡可以「打打咭」吧！我們的同學各有潛能，學校一定會盡最大努力令各位同學找到自己的舞台去發光發亮。

From 1 May, our school participated in MTR’s Community Art Galleries Programme. Eight of our students had their art displayed in Tuen Mun MTR Station for one month. Hope students and parents can snap some photos there when you walk past! Our students have so much potential. Our school will do our best to enable our students to shine bright on their own stage.

在五月的最後一天，收到了一個壞消息。由於二年級及四年級分別有幾位同學有上呼吸道感染徵狀，學校立即向衞生防護中心上報。當晚決定二年級及四年級由六月一日至六月四日停課，課堂以網課形式進行，一、三、五、六年級則如常回校上課。老師及同學也要進行強制檢測，學校亦已安排工友加強清潔及消毒，確保每一個學生都能在健康的校園裏學習。

On the last day of May, we received bad news. As there were a few students who had signs of upper respiratory infection in P.2 and P.4, our school had to notify the Centre for Health Protection immediately. That evening, it was decided that P.2 and P.4 will suspend face-to-face classes from 1 June to 4 June. Instead, the lessons will be conducted online. P.1, P.3, P.5 and P.6 will have lessons at school as usual. Teachers and students had to undergo compulsory testing. Our school also arranged for janitors to carry out additional cleaning and disinfection procedures of the premises to ensure that each of our students can learn at school healthily.
